At Peopl, we're committed to treating every customer fairly - and we recognise that some customers may need additional support at certain times in their lives.

Who this applies to

You may benefit from additional support if you are experiencing any of the following:

  • a health condition, disability, or cognitive impairment that affects how you engage with financial services
  • a significant life event such as bereavement, relationship breakdown, or serious illness
  • financial difficulty or unexpected changes in your circumstances
  • low confidence or difficulty understanding financial products and documents
  • a communication need, such as requiring information in a different format or language

These circumstances can be temporary, permanent, or fluctuating – and you don’t need to have a formal diagnosis or label to ask for help. If something is making it harder for you to engage with us, we want to know.

How we can help

If you let us know that you need additional support, we will do our best to:

  • give you more time to consider your options without pressure
  • explain things in plain language and check you’ve understood
  • provide documents in an alternative format where possible (for example, larger print)
  • involve a trusted person of your choice in your dealings with us, if you prefer
  • refer you to relevant external support organisations where appropriate

How to tell us

You can let us know at any point – when getting a quote, during your policy term, or when making a claim. There is no wrong time to ask for support.

Protecting You From Fraud and Financial Abuse

Financial fraud and scams are increasingly common, and unfortunately the insurance industry is not immune. We want to help you stay safe.

What to watch out for

Fraudsters often pose as insurance companies, brokers, or even regulators to gain your trust. Common scams include unsolicited calls or emails offering unusually cheap insurance deals; requests to pay premiums by bank transfer directly to an individual; pressure to sign up quickly or keep the arrangement secret from family members; and fake renewal notices designed to look like they come from your existing insurer.

If something feels off, trust your instincts.

Protecting yourself

Peopl will never ask you to make a payment by bank transfer to a personal account, pressure you into taking out a policy on the spot, or ask you to keep any aspect of your insurance arrangement confidential. All legitimate communications from us will come from an @peopl.ie email address. You can verify that we are regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland at any time by checking the Central Bank Register (Reg No. C182485).

If you receive a call or message claiming to be from Peopl that doesn’t feel right, hang up and contact us directly on 0818 121 121 or at insurance@peopl.ie.

If you think you’ve been targeted

Don’t be embarrassed — these scams are sophisticated and can happen to anyone. If you believe you have been the victim of financial fraud or are concerned that someone may be misusing your insurance arrangements, please contact us straight away. We will treat your situation with care and complete confidentiality.
