3D Secure Verification

If you have bought something online with your card, and you were directed to an authentication page that asked you to verify your purchase, this is called the 3D Secure process.

For extra fraud protection, 3D Secure requires customers to complete an additional verification step with the card issuer when paying. Typically, you direct the customer to an authentication page on their bank’s website, and they enter a password associated with the card or a code sent to their phone.

The Strong Customer Authentication regulation in Europe requires the use of 3D Secure for card payments.

This has great benefits to the company and the customer as:

  • It reduces the risk of fraud from both parties
  • More secure for customers to shop online
  • Customers confidence increases as they find it safer to purchase on EU websites.

So when you are trying to pay for your home, life or travel insurance policy online with Peopl Insurance firstly know that your payment is fully secure but secondly if the payment isn’t proceeding as expected just make sure to check your phone or your emails as there might be a 3D Secure notification waiting for your go ahead before your bank will allow the money to be paid over. As always if you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to call our team on 0818 121 121, we have our insurance experts ready to take your call Monday – Saturday 8am-6pm.
